Hidradenitis suppurative refers to a chronic skin condition that induces the development of small size lumps under your skin. The color of these lumps can be red. You may feel that lumps are swollen and cause severe pain. 

Usually, they develop at the area where skin rubs together like underarms, between the area of your buttocks and groin. Lumps break over time and induce unpleasant smells under the areas of your skin. This condition develops after the blocking of hair follicles.

These hair follicles inflamed after blockage. Scientists have not yet confirmed why this condition develops. They believe that it may be related to your family history, other underlying conditions, or smoking. Poor hygiene and infection are not the cause of this condition.

Treating Hidradenitis Suppurativa At Home

You can try many natural treatments that help you to decrease the symptoms of hidradenitis Suppurativa. But little research shows the effectiveness of such treatments. 

The Food and Drug Administration does not check the supplement or essential oil’s quality and purity. It is necessary to take advice from your doctor if you are going to start using essential oils or supplements.

Warm Compress

A warm compress is the best option to decrease the pain in your affected dares. If you want the best results then use a dry heat source like a heating pad. Try to avoid using hot washcloths. If you are keeping the affected area dry, it helps you to recover fastly.

Turmeric

Turmeric exhibits antimicrobial, antibacterial, and strong anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to decrease inflammation and prevent you from getting infections.n Mix one tablespoon of turmeric powder with one ½ tablespoon of any carrier oil like coconut oil.

Apply the mixture to the affected area for a time duration of 15 minutes. Rinse it with cool water if it is too warm or irritating you. Let your affected area rest and try it again.

Honey

Honey is used for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and healing properties just like turmeric. It also has antibacterial properties that help you to prevent yourself from developing infections. 

Mix turmeric and honey and apply it to the affected area.  Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash the area.

Tea Tree Oil

It has been used for many years for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Take 2 tablespoons of carrier oil and mix it with two to three drops of tea tree oil. Apply it directly to the affected area.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera has strong antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It soothes your affected area’s discomfort and inflammation. Use pure aloe vera gel if you want the best results. Apply it directly to your body’s affected area and leave it to soak into the skin.

Rubbing Alcohol

It is used as a strong disinfectant. Rubbing alcohol helps you to remove impurities and dirt from the pores that are clogged. Even more, it soothes the irritation and pain when you get a flare-up. If you want to use rubbing alcohol, add it to a cotton pad.

Now, apply it to your affected skin area. If the affected area contains wounds then do not use it as it can induce the feeling of burning and pain in that area.

Zinc

It helps to decrease the swelling and inflammation in your body. Find zinc in oysters and spinach or take it as supplements. If you want to make cream add one teaspoon of a zinc oxide powder to ½ cup of coconut oil and mix it with one tablespoon of beeswax.

Neem Oil

People have been using neem oil for the treatment of certain conditions related to the skin like acne for a long time. It helps to decrease redness, bacteria, and inflammation on the skin. Moreover, it contains a high amount of fatty acids that help to heal scars.

Apply neem oil to your body’s affected area with the help of a cotton pad. Let it soak in that area or wash it off. You can combine it with certain other ingredients like honey, turmeric, and aloe to get the best results.
